Lessons Learnt (2019)
I created this piece through a heartbreak, while attempting to settle for a relationship that was giving me less than the worth I felt and deserved. When it crashed and burnt, the only way to express my disappointment and resurfacing anger, triggered by my resurfacing childhood abandonment, was to throw paint on my canvas.
I investigated the the basic foundations of healthy partnerships and reflect on qualities and efforts that make a wholesome and supportive relationship, to unlearn the destructive patterns and avoid unhelpful coping mechanisms that I picked up in my childhood.
